From Humble Beginnings To A Synagogue Church Of All Nations

At the very beginning of it all, eight Christian members convened in a dirty and humid jungle shelter in Agodo-Egbe in Lagos, Nigeria. They all agreed that God put them on this Earth for one great purpose: to help those who are lost. One member, TB Joshua, is now the General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN). This charismatic leader has come a long way from his early days of quitting high school and doing back breaking labor in a chicken farm, to becoming the leader of an international ministry with members from all over the world. Today, various presidents are proud to call TB Joshua their mentor and spiritual advisor. However, the preacher remains humble and insists he is only doing God’s work and that all his success only comes from being an obedient servant of God.

The SCOAN’s History

Today, the Synagogue Church of All Nations is an architectural masterpiece located in Lagos, Nigeria. However, just like its pastor, its beginning was anything but glamorous. The congregation got its start in the jungle of Agodo-Egbe, but grew famous in a short time due to news about TB Joshua’s miracle works. People were hearing stories about the paralyzed walking again, those with hopeless cancer and HIV/AIDS cases being cured. As the SCOAN’s popularity grew, its members swelled, and it was obvious a new, bigger space was needed. TB Joshua, guided by the Holy Spirit, moved his congregation to a huge plot of land in Ikotun-Egbe. This marked a trying time for the preacher, as his fame also attracted a lot of jealousy and enemies. However, his loyal followers were not swayed. They trusted their leader and supported his next biggest project, which was to bring into reality the instructions that TB Joshua received from the Holy Spirit in his dream about a construction of a great cathedral. The result is the beautiful SCOAN building that stands today as a testament to God’s grace and love.

TB Joshua’s Tireless Work At The SCOAN

Even though the SCOAN is located in Nigeria, this does not stop TB Joshua from consistently spreading the word of God to all corners of the world. With Emmanuel TV, he is able to reach and inspire followers anywhere on Earth every Sunday. Meanwhile, the SCOAN Cathedral is often filled to maximum capacity with the faithful. They all come because they trust that TB Joshua performs miracles that are aided by their faith. The preacher himself only has one goal. He proclaimed, “The Synagogue Church of All Nations is now spreading throughout the globe. That name was not just given for nothing. God had a plan and purpose. The unseen hand is at work, and we know that this higher hand is leading us to something higher.” TB Joshua puts all his trust in God. “Where God guides, He provides. Where He provides, He protects. A million thanks are not enough for all He has done. The best is yet to come.”
